Nantwich unveiled its tastiest weekend of the year – with a little help from Barringtons.
More than 30,000 people flocked to the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival over the weekend September 5-7.
Organisers have paid tribute to Barringtons – sponsors for the fourth year running.
We joined the likes of Bentley Motors, Nantwich Town Council and Cheshire East Council in getting behind this event.
Every year it sets tills ringing across the historic town, helping to generate some £2m income during a weekend when things slow down for tourism.
Festival chairman Deborah Robb said: “Setting up huge marquees and creating the infrastructure for the festival costs a huge amount and just wouldn’t be possible without the support of local businesses like Barringtons.”
Attractions this year included stands filled with food from around the globe, with hundreds of delicacies to sample and shops staging all manner of food-related activities such as pizza-making, cocktail-mixing and pork pie workshops.
This year sees the launch of late night Friday opening with professional street entertainment including dancing girls on stilts, fire-breathers and jugglers.
