If you’ve not had a chance to meet Des Machin yet then here’s a little about the man with a passion for business and badminton.
The father-of-three has spent several years working as a business development manager in accountancy, previously based in Market Drayton with Mercer & Co.
Before that he ran a fine art business based in the UK supplying fine art prints to the retail trade. He has travelled extensively in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan & India. In the 70s-80’s he lived in Australia.
Away from the office he plays badminton for Shropshire County Veterans.
He’s also keen to pass on his love of sport to youngsters, coaching juniors at The Grove School in Market Drayton, Thomas Adams School in Wem and Ellesmere College.
Des says: “I suppose you could call me the eternal optimist. The ‘glass is half full’ is how I like to look at life.
“I love to engage with people on all levels and businesses large and small. In every sphere of life, there are challenges and the way people build courage, make decisions and manage change is fascinating.”
Problem-solving and logical, Des is currently developing his ability to read body language.
